When your child arrives and goes home

Drop-off windows and day times differ for T1, T2, K1 and K2, and the Samakee office confirms your child's exact times with you. K1 families can also add an extended hour to the day: ask the office.

The first day, and every date after it

The first days for each year group, the holidays and the whole year sit on the Samakee calendar, which is updated every week.

What to pack, every day

A reusable water bottle

In the backpack every day, named.

A complete change of clothes

Every day, in the backpack. Young children play with water, sand, paint and clay, and a spare set means the day carries on.

A supply of diapers, for T1 and T2

Send a supply to keep at school. We will let you know when it is running low.

Shoes that stay on outside

Flat shoes, or sandals with straps. Please not flip flops, and not shoes with heels: children are outside every day and both come off mid run.

Coming in, and going home

Wear your lanyard on campus

Parents and authorised caregivers wear a lanyard whenever they are on the campus. Ask the Samakee office for one, for yourself and for anyone who collects your child.

Who may collect your child

No child leaves the centre with anyone other than their parents without your authorisation first. If someone else is collecting, tell us before the day.

Why we are strict about this

Keeping children safe is the reason behind the lanyard and the collection rule, and the safeguarding page says how we do it and who to tell if something worries you.

Isabella is the person to ask about anything on this page. Your child's teacher is the person to ask about your child.

For anything urgent, call the centre. Everything else reaches us by email.

Your child's days live in the Parent App

Teachers, coordinators and specialists post photographs and short updates there. Sign in at portal.parent.cloud, or use the app on your phone: Google Play · App Store. If you cannot get in, ask Isabella.
