The school bus.

ELC runs the bus with Blue Jade, our transport partner. There are no fixed routes: the service is built around the families using it, and we recommend it for families living within about five kilometres of campus. Here is how it works day to day, and who to call when it does not.

Getting a place
BUS
Bus places are arranged when you join
Signing up for the bus is part of the admissions process, not something you book here. There is no booking or payment on the portal, and there is no plan to move it here without telling you first.
Already with us and want to add the bus
Contact the school office and they will put you in touch with the person who looks after transport, who will then work through it with you directly. You can start at any point in the school year and the fee is prorated. We prefer to start families on a Monday, so the change is a clean one for your child and for the driver.
How far the bus goes
There are no set routes, and we recommend the service to families living within about five kilometres of campus. Bangkok traffic is unpredictable, and much beyond that distance we cannot run the journey at the quality we want for your child. If you are not sure whether your address works, ask us before anything is arranged.
Before the first day
Add Blue Jade to your address book
Your pick-up time and every change to it arrive by email from the transport team. Please add them to your contacts, otherwise those emails can be filed as spam or junk and you will not see them.
Set up the Blue Jade app
Blue Jade gives you access to their app. Tracking the bus and any change to your child's journey both happen there, so it is worth setting up before your first morning. Download it for iPhone on the App Store or for Android on Google Play. If you do not have access, email the transport team above.
Read the bus behaviour policy together
It is short, and it is what we expect on board so that the journey stays safe and calm. You will find it with the other policies and forms.
The morning
Be outside a few minutes early
Please be at your stop a little before the time in your email. The bus waits five minutes at most, then goes on to the next family so that nobody else is made late.
If nobody is there, the bus calls you
The driver phones before leaving your stop. It is worth answering: that call is the last chance to catch the bus that morning.
The afternoon
Watch the app, not the clock
Drop-off times can vary by twenty to twenty-five minutes depending on the traffic that day. The app shows where the bus actually is, so please wait on that rather than on a fixed time.
Your child is handed to an authorised adult only
This is the same authorisation lanyard system as at the school gate: your child leaves the bus only with an adult carrying an ELC lanyard for your family, worn where the team can see it. The arrival and pick-up page explains how the lanyards work and how to add a collector.
When something changes
Skipping a journey, or changing one for good
If your child will not be on the bus in the morning or the afternoon, update it in the app. Anything that changes from now on, rather than just today, belongs there too.
Running late, or a change at the last minute
Call the transport hotline. They can reach the driver, which the app cannot do once the bus is moving.
If your child misses the bus
Call the school. Where we can, we send the bus back for them, but we cannot promise it once the bus is on its way with other children.

This page is for The City School. If you use the bus and something on it does not match what you were told, tell the office: the office is right and this page needs fixing.
