Your welcome to ELC.

Two welcomes on two days, for City School and Purple Elephant families alike. Thursday 13 August is social: meet the other families and the team over a drink, off campus at The Wine Merchant. Friday 14 August is the orientation morning itself, at The City School. Both are before the first day.

Thursday 13 August · the welcome evening

6:00 to 8:30, at The Wine Merchant

An informal evening for parents, with wine and light snacks. This one is off campus. There is no presentation and no programme to keep up with: come when you can, stay as long as suits you.

Who it is for, and who you will meet

Both City School and Purple Elephant families, together in one room: those brand new to ELC and those moving up from Purple Elephant. From our side, the senior leadership team, your child's academic coordinators, our admissions officer and the Assistant Head of Purple Elephant, plus a few current and past parents.

Payal says a few words upstairs partway through the evening. Everything else is conversation.

Morning, at The City School

The orientation session for families joining The City School. Your invitation confirms your start time and where to come.

What the morning covers

How and why we teach the way we do, how we make children's learning visible, the rhythm of the year with the dates worth putting in your calendar, what a day actually looks like for your child, and the ways parents are part of it. You also meet the people who will know your child by name.

Year group detail comes separately

This morning stays at the whole-school level. Your coordinator covers what is specific to your child's year group at your information session, and your teacher does the same in your Hopes and Wishes conversation.
